Dr. Brendan Gebler, PsyD

Doctor of Psychology

After growing up in the suburbs of Pittsburgh I am honored to have an opportunity to return to the area to work with and support my neighbors.  I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Duquesne University and went on to earn my doctoral degree at Chatham University.  After completing my doctoral coursework at Chatham, I attended my doctoral internship at Lehigh University Counseling and Psychological Services. My training has provided me the opportunity to work in college counseling centers, addictions treatment facilities, and hospital settings, where I met Dr. Weingarden.

I believe my clients are the true experts of their own journeys, and through the brave work of therapy, they uncover powerful insights that not only transform their own lives but also create ripples of healing in the lives of those around them. Through our work I encourage my clients to engage in non-judgmental self-reflection so that they may view themselves through a more compassionate lens and ultimately resolve their inner turmoil.  While I have received training in several modalities, including CBT, DBT, and ACT, my work is primarily grounded in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy.  Through IFS, I encourage clients to see the various aspects of their personalities as a system of parts.  Rather than trying to eliminate seemingly troublesome parts, I work with clients to curiously and compassionately gain a clearer perspective of this system in the service of helping the various parts do their jobs better.
