Family Support for Eating (Maudsley or Family-Based Treatment)

Price

$2.00

A family guideline based off the Maudsley Method, initially developed for children and adolscents but recently found to be effective for adults as well. This is a method of transitioning from highly structured mealtime to healthy indepedence. If the individual is not appropriately and reasonably feeding themselves due to eating disorder, someone must take over, emulating the experience of earlier-lfie parenting - we are revisiting that experience to re-learn those skills. Over the course of this treatment, more and more responsibility is shifted to the person who is relearning healthy eating habits. This could include choices in aspects of the meal, a role in preparation of the food, etc. Additionally, this guide includes basic education about weight gain expectations, calories per kilogram typically needed for weight gain, refeeding syndrome basics (obviously not meant to replace the necessary support of a dietician, nutritionist or other medical provider), etc.
