DR. JON WEINGARDEN
Dr. Weingarden is a Pittsburgher and is proud to practice psychology in his home community. His experience ranges from general practice in the community mental health setting to several specialized areas. Dr. Weingarden worked in bipolar disorder research and treatment for many years, where he received training in Interpersonal Psychotherapy and Interpersonal Social Rhythm Therapy.
As a Senior Program Director at UPMC's Western Psychiatric Hospital, Dr. Weingarden had in-depth experience with a range of populations and diagnoses. At the short-term, acute site, the primary focus is frequently on identifying and addressing problems, utilizing approaches to treatment such as CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy)
Dr. Weingarden completed his pre-doctoral internship at Carnegie Mellon University's Counseling and Psychological Services, where he received supervision and training in Psychodynamic therapy. Additionally, Dr. Weingarden received supervised training on the Adult Trauma Recovery Inpatient Unit at Western Psychiatric Hospital, as well as in Cognitive and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (CBT and DBT).

Dr. Weingarden is currently only accepting self-pay clients and evaluations or specialized skills training, new supervisees and group therapy practitioners, and requests for lectures and consultation. If you wish to use insurance, please schedule with one of Dr. Weingarden's colleagues under the "team" drop-down. The session fee is $300 for a 50-minute session, and Dr. Weingarden accepts a limited number of sliding scale clients based upon their financial situation.
